I absolutely love these candles, all the scents are fantastic, plus I love that they are from natural rather than chemical sources. The tin does get very hot after you have been burning for a long time or the candle is low, so need to be careful, but other than that I absolutely love these candles and have ordered them multiple times in different varieties.

Although the candle was a little smaller than I had anticipated (it did have the size listed in the description so that was my own miscalculation) it smells wonderful, is great for when meditating or trying to unwind. When I first heard of the flameless candles, I kept thinking, ‘what a Godsend for a challenged, safety conscious household.’ I have a very large, inquisitive dog, that does not need to be around real flames. Also, my hubby has asthma, so we use scented candles infrequently; mostly during entertaining. So I loved the idea that some of the flameless candles offer optional diffusers, just for those special occasions. Also, that there is NO smoke, which itself can disturb allergies, and there is increasing scientific evidence, that toxins emitted burning candles, can be a health hazard.

However, some of the first flameless candles that I saw, did not look very realistic, at all; the lights did not flicker. Thank goodness, they are making progress, so that we can now bring them home and display them proudly, while increasing our safety.

I purchased the AromaSpa Candle and couldn’t be more pleased. I’ve had it for 3 months and I ritualistically turn it on almost every evening. I find it quite soothing and very realistic, with the flickering light. I have mine located where I am able to plug it in, unobtrusively. So, I generally leave it on until it turns itself off, in six hours. Since mine is plugged in, I have no problems using the diffuser, if I so desire, and it offers sufficient aroma to satisfy me, without overdoing it.

It just so happens, that I had a large, clear glass plate, that came with river rocks and three real candles. I had long ago used the candles but immediately thought that this candle would look great nestled in the plate of river rocks. I was right! It looks as though they came together and added to the elegance of the total picture. It is really attractive.

There are so many places where flameless candles can bring peace and tranquility, where real flames aren’t permitted. For the hospitalized patient. Anyone home-bound, or disabled that might not want to deal with managing a real candle. For that forgetful senior citizen, or the teen, that you just don’t trust with real candles in their room, just yet. A dull office, or a little cube space, could sure be brought to life and maybe offer a Zen moment here, and there.

Okay, enough said! You can see I’m turned on by this candle and the idea of flameless candles, in general. I think you just might be, too.

I like the idea of combining fragrance with a candle effect.

Pros: can use any fragrance oil, low energy use, can leave unattended (out of the reach of children and pets)

Cons: fragrance warmer does not work with batteries alone – in order to have both the candle and the fragrance warmer work, you must plug it in. Does not throw the fragrance particularly well – could use a little fan or room for more oil, candle does not look as real as other flameless candles I’ve seen, the river rocks don’t serve a function and look a bit odd to me.

I’ve always loved patchouli… but wasn’t sure about frankincense. I bought this because I liked the idea of a natural, toxin-free candle with my favorite patchouli scent. I had it sitting in my home office for the longest time before I finally lit it up today. All I can say is… nirvana. It has an incredible smell and is very relaxing. (Not exactly conducive to working, but takes away any work stress and anxiety!) My only complaint is that it’s smaller than I thought it was. The candle itself is probably only about 2 inches in diameter. I know it lasts a pretty long time, but I wish it was offered in a larger size. I’d get one for every room in the house! As it is, a candle this size is probably just right for my smallish office when I have the doors closed. I think the aroma would get lost in our living room or other larger rooms because the candle is not quite large enough.

I bought a Plantlife Tangerine & Lavender a few weeks ago to try out. I love candles and most of the ones I buy smell good but don’t last very long or they lose their scent. The book is filled with some good information. However, There is no safety data for the oils presented. Some oils are not safe to use during pregnancy, estrogen dependent cancer, or may cause skin irritation or phototoxicity (sunburn). Use caution when trying the recipies in this book or research the oils further.A disturbing section was the one on pets. I would definately do more research before putting anything on a cat. Cats lick their fur and not all oils can be ingested. Eucalyptus is toxic if taken internally. There have been reports of Tea Tree nearly killing cats. In addition, they recommended adding tansy to a horse’s feed to treat worms. Tansy is very toxic to horses and cows. People usually try to remove the plant from their pastures.Last word. Do your research and don’t just use one book.

Valerie Ann Worwood’s book “The Complete Book Of Essential Oils & Aromatherapy” is one of the most complete and down-to-earth books on the subject, especially for the beginer. If I were to teach a course on aromatherapy for beginers, this would be one of two main texts I would use, as it is so complete. Here writing style is very clear, easily understood, and enjoyable to read. No dryness here. She begins by discussing ten essntial oils as a “basic care kit,” and explains how such oils should be used via an A-Z list of common household occurances. The list includes the following as some topics: -Abdominal pain. -Abraisions. -Black Eye. -Bruises. -Colds. -Fever. -Headache. -Hicups. As a matter of principle, she explains at the very begining of the book that the information contained therein is NOT intended to take the place of a Physician’s care. Her chapters on Travel, Sports related injuries, and Beauty (3 chapters covering head to feet!), Maternity and Motherhood, Mens/Women’s health (seperate chapters), and Aging are exceptional. She closes with chapters on aromatherapy for animals, and gardening; which I have not seen except in a work by Dr. Gary Young. The charts at the end of the book are indespensable, and complete as a ready quick refrance. Valerie’s bibliography contains such authors as Belaiche; Gattefose; Valnet, Duraffourd, Lapraz; and Wells; shows that she is very well read as she is experienced. These authors are the very pioneers of the modern resurgence of aromatherapy, and should be read by all who desire to be serious students of the art and science that is aromatherapy. Those who may wish to criticize her lack of litterary sitations should go and read the works cited here, remembering that Valerie has over 25 years of practical experience as a student and practicioner in a country where aromatherapy is taken seriously, and all they will be left holding is empty litterary critique. Better still, they should utilize her book, and let experience speak for itself! My only sugestion for a revision would be an in-depth chapter on essential oil chemistry, and their interaction with the bodily systems. Otherwise, I consider this book to be amoung the best out there on the subject. It makes a great gift for all occasoins.

My 4 month old received this dog as a gift for Christmas. It smells so lovely. He buries his head in its face to snuggle with it. This stuffed animal is very cute and soft, plus I like that it has a lavender scent that isn’t too strong (you actually have to put your face up to it to smell this). I got it for my 8 month old son, but I will wait to give it to him since it’s bigger than I thought. I just put it in his crib when he’s awake or not in there so the scent can transfer to his crib, then remove it for bedtime. The fur material is nice and doesn’t “shed” like some other stuffed animals out there even when my son pulls on it or tries to put it in his mouth. I recommend this, but for older kids like maybe at least 2 or 3 yrs old. For now, I’m the one cuddling w/ it at night:)

It is a pretty eye pillow. But it isn’t the same on both sides and the smell is overpowering for me. I was also hoping that the silk would be cool to the touch like past eye pillows I have had. I gave this one to my husband and am back on the search for the perfect eye pillow. My favorite one is literally falling apart and I am desperately trying to find a replacement.
