The book is filled with some good information. However, There is no safety data for the oils presented. Some oils are not safe to use during pregnancy, estrogen dependent cancer, or may cause skin irritation or phototoxicity (sunburn). Use caution when trying the recipies in this book or research the oils further.A disturbing section was the one on pets. I would definately do more research before putting anything on a cat. Cats lick their fur and not all oils can be ingested. Eucalyptus is toxic if taken internally. There have been reports of Tea Tree nearly killing cats. In addition, they recommended adding tansy to a horse’s feed to treat worms. Tansy is very toxic to horses and cows. People usually try to remove the plant from their pastures.Last word. Do your research and don’t just use one book.
Valerie Ann Worwood’s book “The Complete Book Of Essential Oils & Aromatherapy” is one of the most complete and down-to-earth books on the subject, especially for the beginer. If I were to teach a course on aromatherapy for beginers, this would be one of two main texts I would use, as it is so complete. Here writing style is very clear, easily understood, and enjoyable to read. No dryness here. She begins by discussing ten essntial oils as a “basic care kit,” and explains how such oils should be used via an A-Z list of common household occurances. The list includes the following as some topics: -Abdominal pain. -Abraisions. -Black Eye. -Bruises. -Colds. -Fever. -Headache. -Hicups. As a matter of principle, she explains at the very begining of the book that the information contained therein is NOT intended to take the place of a Physician’s care. Her chapters on Travel, Sports related injuries, and Beauty (3 chapters covering head to feet!), Maternity and Motherhood, Mens/Women’s health (seperate chapters), and Aging are exceptional. She closes with chapters on aromatherapy for animals, and gardening; which I have not seen except in a work by Dr. Gary Young. The charts at the end of the book are indespensable, and complete as a ready quick refrance. Valerie’s bibliography contains such authors as Belaiche; Gattefose; Valnet, Duraffourd, Lapraz; and Wells; shows that she is very well read as she is experienced. These authors are the very pioneers of the modern resurgence of aromatherapy, and should be read by all who desire to be serious students of the art and science that is aromatherapy. Those who may wish to criticize her lack of litterary sitations should go and read the works cited here, remembering that Valerie has over 25 years of practical experience as a student and practicioner in a country where aromatherapy is taken seriously, and all they will be left holding is empty litterary critique. Better still, they should utilize her book, and let experience speak for itself! My only sugestion for a revision would be an in-depth chapter on essential oil chemistry, and their interaction with the bodily systems. Otherwise, I consider this book to be amoung the best out there on the subject. It makes a great gift for all occasoins.

My 4 month old received this dog as a gift for Christmas. It smells so lovely. He buries his head in its face to snuggle with it. I leave it in his crib until he falls asleep and then I remove it for the rest of the night. It has completely baby safe features which I really appreciate. The biggest surprise is that my 4 year old keeps sneaking it out of the baby’s crib so she can sleep with it too. It is on her list for the next holiday!
This stuffed animal is very cute and soft, plus I like that it has a lavender scent that isn’t too strong (you actually have to put your face up to it to smell this). I got it for my 8 month old son, but I will wait to give it to him since it’s bigger than I thought. I just put it in his crib when he’s awake or not in there so the scent can transfer to his crib, then remove it for bedtime. The fur material is nice and doesn’t “shed” like some other stuffed animals out there even when my son pulls on it or tries to put it in his mouth. I recommend this, but for older kids like maybe at least 2 or 3 yrs old. For now, I’m the one cuddling w/ it at night:)

It is a really nice bag and very spacious. The handles are a bit small so it is hard to wear. Otherwise this bag is really cool and the design is unique and original.
I love this bag, it’s sturdy and the ink doesn’t run and stain everything it comes into contact with and it’s not so flimsy that I worry my groceries will tear through (not to mention they’re absolutely adorable). I think the only thing I wish they would fix is how awkward the handles are. They’re not quite long enough to slip over your shoulder and thin enough that holding more than one in your hands can be really uncomfortable.

It is a pretty eye pillow. But it isn’t the same on both sides and the smell is overpowering for me. I was also hoping that the silk would be cool to the touch like past eye pillows I have had. I gave this one to my husband and am back on the search for the perfect eye pillow. My favorite one is literally falling apart and I am desperately trying to find a replacement.

Of them. While practicing aromatherapy skin care the basic thing to be borne in mind is never to apply essential oils to any part of skin without diluting, even while inhaling. Further, the following aromatherapy skin care exercises will
be helpful handy for cleansing and cellular renewal of skin, especially facial skin.
For deep cleansing of facial skin 3 to 5 drops of essential oil, mixed with a teaspoonful of milk or honey be poured in a pint of hot water. After putting this hot mixture in a stainless steel mixing bowl, the steam from this bowl
Should be taken on face and inhaled by leaning over the bowl and covering the head with a towel. This method is known as `Facial Steam’. In addition to deep cleansing the facial skin, breathing the steam in this manner also has relaxing effect.
Another aromatherapy skin care method, known as `Facial Masque’ is very helpful to keep the facial skin toned, fresh and hydrated. In this method 2-3 drops of essential oils are mixed with moistened clay, honey mashed avocado or egg white. This mixture is applied to lightly dampened face. When the masque starts drying and hardening (10-15 minutes) the masque is washed thoroughly.
To nourish and heal the facial skin about 10 drops of essential oil blend is added to carrier oil. Jojoba, Frankincense and German Chamomile oils are widely used, depending on the type of skin. This blend should be applied to problematic areas to have desired effects. This method is known as `Facial Oil Blend’. Another aspect of aromatherapy skin care, to keep the skin refreshed and stimulate the lymphatic system, is `Skin Brushing’. A drop of essential oils with a tablespoonful of honey should be mixed and applied with the help of a natural bristle skin brush.
If you choose the right essential oil that suits you then they can actually work wonders for your body. Essential oils are safe, natural and effective and can treat diseases and traumas too. Knowing the real essential oils from artificial synthetic imitations is necessary.
